Brunch with Mum

So far this weekend has been amazing! Other than the stress of an essay for OU – boring!

My mum came down to visit yesterday and we had an adventure to find some new plants. I’ve read online that plants are very helpful when it comes to mental health (I’ll write a blog post on this once I have this essay out of the way!). We had such a lovely day, it was just what I needed.

The last week has honestly been hell, I’ve felt completely useless in all aspects of life and yes the depression is turning very negative (good old bi polar). I’m currently finding any reason to hold on.

So after my day with my mum yesterday I decided to go back with her to the country side to have a breather and get my essay finished in peace. My mum lives on a farm in the middle of no where so it’s lovely to just sit and think.

This morning we went and had brunch at our favourite little restaurant called Ocean Beach in Thorpe Bay. It was amazing, restaurant/cafe by day, bar by night! The restaurant itself is right by the sea and has an amazing view shown below. I went with eggs Benedict with salmon – yummy!

This little trip home was the first time in a really long time that I’ve felt the need to maybe move out of the city and go home. Back to the peace and quiet. Back to calm.

What do you guys think, is the city really a place for someone with newly diagnosed bipolar?

  1. This place looks amazing! Sounds like you had a lovely time with your mum πŸ™‚

    I can’t comment on if the city is right for someone with bipolar as I don’t know enough about it, but living in a city with anxiety is pretty tough going for me. Aberdeen isn’t the busiest city, yet I still find it overwhelming some days. I’d like to live somewhere a bit quieter.

    1. Thank you, I honestly debating moving so much. It’s just so loud on London all the damn time and I don’t even live central 😩
