Panther

I’m sitting here minding my own business when you appear again.

You weren’t invited but you always turn up.

I call you the Panther.

I see you as a big Panther’s paw. Draped over me like a blanket refusing to let me feel happy, refusing to allow my mood to be lifted.

Panther we haven’t seen each other in a while. How have you been?

Me? I’ve been fantastic.

You waited a while to show your face this time, I expected you last month but you didn’t show. I guess our friendship has drifted. I guess I was in too high spirit for you to attack.

But here we are.

Back together.

Panther please be kind this time and don’t stick around, I have stuff to do and a life to live. Just because I’m no longer medicated doesn’t mean you can take advantage.

Last time you wrecked havoc. You played a big part in derailing my career. You made me isolate myself and ignore my friends. Panther, you made me fall out of love with living.

Please be kind this time.
